Libro que estudia la Inquisición efectuada en el Monasterio de Guadalupe en 1485, dividido en de dos partes. En la primera, a cargo de Enrique Llopis, se sintetiza el desarrollo económico, político y social del cenobio desde su fundación, en 1389, hasta mediados del siglo XVI, y se analizan las causas y consecuencias del establecimiento de dos tribunales inquisitoriales en Guadalupe. La segunda, debida a Elisa Ruiz, estudia el origen y aparato normativo de la Orden Jerónima, analiza el proceso inquisitorial intramuros del monasterio y ofrece una edición paleográfica y crítica de dos fuentes inéditas: el Códice del Perpetuo Socorro y la Sentencia condenatoria de fray Diego de Marchena.
